 Curly Mango 11m Knife Scales

WP10284
135 x 50 x 11 mm
A soft wood, recommended for a show knife due to beautiful ripple in the grain. Not for the beginner, nor for the feint at heart. Sands easily, colours well. Extremely rare in this country.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £11.00

 Curly Mango 12mm Knife Scales

WP10534
157 x 36 x 12mm
A remarkable wood with both ripple and flash. Hugely expensive and difficult to source, I offer this at my normal low markup for your enjoyment. I have a little turned box that I made for myself, beautiful wood!
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £10.00

 Curly Mango 8.5mm Knife Scales

WP10533
156 x 32 x 8.5mm
Horrendously expensive wood to buy and difficult to source. I offer it at my normal low markup. Gorgeous ripple all along the length.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £8.50

Elm 8mm Knife Scales - Exactly Quartersawn

WP10507
147 x 42 x 8mm
Nice green streak of colour in this set, apparently this denotes the species to be 'Wych Elm', although I have never had this confirmed by a reliable source. It IS elm though, and nice wood. Sawn exactly on the quarter.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £6.00

 Jatoba 7.5mm Knife Scales

WP10267
118 x 51 x 7.5 mm
A dense hardwood with a plainer look. Will support a fancy blade without detracting from it. Good stuff.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £4.50

Maple 4.5mm Knife Penknife Scales - almost quartersawn

WP10306
135 x 27 x 4.5 mm
Cut almost on the quarter, this set of scales shows much fine flecking. A gentle caramel colour that will enhance any folder blade. Sister set to wp10305 but not quite so perfect in figure.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £3.50

 Maple 7.5mm Knife Scales

WP10531
136 x 50 x 7.5mm
Exactly two little 'birds-eyes' that run all the way through this set. It is sound wood, and for the price is an excellent set for the beginner or person looking for a snip.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £4.50

 Mesquite 5mm Knife Scales

WP10501
130 x 49 x 5mm
Superb grain in this set. I received one small plank, kept a couple of sets and some turning blanks for my own use, and these are the last of it. No more once these are gone. A hard durable wood.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £9.25

 Mesquite 7.5mm Knife Scales

WP10505
130 x 50 x 7.5mm
Dense, heavy and durable. Much used and revered in the States. One of just a few sets left from my little plank. Recommended and suggest you snap them up while they last.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £9.50

 Muhuhu 6.5mm Knife Scales

WP10246
135 x 33 x 6.5 mm
A relative of sandlewood, muhuhu is a lovely wood to work with. Glorious smell, dense, takes an excellent finish, but does need de-greasing before glue-up. I love this wood and almost didn't cut it up for scales...
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £5.50

Mystery Wood 5.5mm Penknife Scales (some sort of exotic hardwood)

WP9722
112 x 32 x 5.5
Good hard wood, and I keep thinking I should know what it is... and then I don't. And that frustrates me. Lovely colours and good grain lines. With a bit of flash
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £4.50

Oak, English9mm Knife Penknife Scales - Exactly Quartersawn

WP10249
134 x 31 x 9 mm
Nice markings - not too tight, but good sound wood that will be very stable. Oak needs to be separated from the steel by some sort of liner as the tannin and steel react to form staining marks.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £4.25

 Pau Rosa 7.5mm Knife Scales

WP10021
118 x 35 x 7.5 mm
Cut almost on the quarter. Sturdy, straight grain that will make a very nice, understated handle.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £5.25

Red River Gum 6mm Knife Scales

WP10500
110 x 40 x 6mm
I have only a few more sets of red river gum left. When it is gone, it is unlikely it will ever be in my shop again. Lovely red coloured wood that shows of a busy or beautiful blade. Works well and takes a good finish. Unfortunately no picture.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £5.85

Red River Gum 7.5mm Knife Scales

WP10513
(136>96) x (55>24) x 7.5mm     ((115 x 40) or (121 x 35) possible)
While plain looking, this lovely red-coloured wood makes an excellent knife handle, enhancing a busy or beautifully shaped blade. The last of a very small stock I bought for turning some 10 years or so ago. Get it while it lasts.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £6.75

 Rippled Ash 5.5mm Knife Scales

WP10553
135 x 42 x 5.5mm
Absolutely stunning pair of scales. Come highly recommended. Voids fillable.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £6.85

Rippled Ash 6mm (nominally - one is 6mm, one is 7mm) knife scales

WP10554
136 x 42 x (6 & 7)mm
This pair somehow got sanded to different thicknesses. Price reflects that. Sand level on non-bookmatched side or use as ergonomic set.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £6.55

 Rippled Ash 6mm knife scales

WP10538
135 x 49 x 6mm
If I had room in my Personal Stash box, these would go in it. There are voids, these will need to be filled but will make beautiful features. Very nice ripple too.
The item in the photo is the one that you will receive.
Price: £6.50
